Good News!

I know. Surely not Lindsay bringing "good news" after what has, undoubtedly, been one of the worst years of her life, but yes! It's true!

Yesterday, I found out that I've been accepted for Journalism and Creative Writing at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow!

I'm so excited. It's really, really hard to get into and they've accepted me, even though I handed my application in late (woops) and there are probably ten year olds who can structure sentences with more flare that I can, but there we have it! I did it!

I just can't wait to get back to uni and using my brain again. Ok, so I've been doing Su Doku and working on My First Best-seller as I like to call it, but it's not the same as going and sitting in a lecture and just learning. Despite being a bit of a dipstick, I do actually like learning, and this course sounds utterly fabulous. And, yes, I have actually done my research this time, so it hopefully shouldn't go the way of the Film course at Glasgow.

Second time lucky and all that...

This has really lifted my spirits, actually. I was a bit down the past few days. Actually, I was more angry than anything else. Angry at everyone and everything for being able to do what I want to but can't because I'm recovering from major surgery and have an inflammatory bowel disease. But this news has made it all seem a bit better.

I might even start job-hunting soon. In fact, I might make a CV this afternoon.

In fact, no. That's taking things a bit too far.

Anyway, in other news, tonight I'm booking up for ten days in Spain with my two fabulous girlie pals, Elaine and Gillian. You'll probably find pictures of them in the gallery. We're heading off to Salou in June, which is going to be amazing. That's another thing I can't wait for - showing off my surgery scar in a bikini, and possibly wearing a cowboy hat.

I never thought I'd say this, but hey. Things are looking up!

Think I'll crawl off to bed now, this is ridiculously early for a night-owl like me. I have been awake since 6am. Not healthy. At all.

Glad to hear things are looking up. Congratulations on the uni place. I just found Theme Hospital under my bed so things are looking good for me for the next few hours!
