I have bad news, Lindsay fans. I love how I've taken it upon myself to decide that you're all fans. Of course you are, who wouldn't be?
But as I was saying before I interrupted myself? Oh yes. The dress of glory, as seen
here is no longer available from Miss Selfridge. Distressed doesn't even cover it, I almost broke down crying in the shop. I had it all planned out, what shoes would go with it, how great I would look, how many boys would fall in love with me... Answers being grey patent Mary Janes, very and all of them, even gay ones.
However, being the fickle female that I am, I quickly found a replacement for the teal dream that once took my heart.
I now own an absolutely stunning 1940s style tea dress, with a black, cream and purple pansy print, deep V front, slightly puffy sleaves, in a dreamy I'll-never-need-ironing-me fabric which falls just at my knees and makes me look about a size smaller than I actually am. Perfect when your Crohn's disease feels like a lifetime ago and you're battling with Belly Hanging Over Jeans Syndrome instead.
She's the type of dress who could be dressed up for a night of dancing to catchy indie music in fantastic new heels or dressed right down with a polo neck underneath and flat slouchy boots. She will serve any occassion and do so with grace and sophistication.
She might even do for the spring time with naked legs and a hint of fake tan to beat the winter grey, black leather ballet pumps, perhaps a pair of fake Rayban sunnies on and that "I've been partying for eight weeks straight!" look about you, making you think you're Kate Moss.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet My New Favourite Dress.
She makes me feel complete. Almost makes me think... Miss
what dress?
